1596 - Robert Biggart, who was laureated at the University of Glasgow in , was minister of Kirkconncl, Dumfriesshire

1661 to 1686 - Major John Biggar.  appears at intervals as a Commissioner of Supply for the Shire of Edinburgh.

May, 1661, -  Major John Biggar  was appointed a Commissioner to try witches in Fisherrow and Gilmerton (Acts of Parliament of Scotland, Vols. VI.-VIII.).

1689 -  Laird of Woolmet appointed a Cornet of Militia for the Shire of Edinburgh

1690 - William Biggar of Woolmet is appointed a Commissioner of Supply
